GEORGE W. MAY, JR., DMD
George May is a Jackson native, graduating from Mississippi State University with a degree in history. After graduating from the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry, he completed an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital/University of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas where he was chief resident his final year of training.
Dr. May returned to Jackson to practice oral and maxillofacial surgery in 1990. He is board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, a member of the American Dental Association, the Mississippi Dental Association, the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association, and has served on the Council on Advocacy for Access, Prevention, and Interpersonal Relations of the American Dental Association. He has been on the teaching staff at University of Mississippi School of Dentistry for 30 years in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.
He is married to Cathy Thomas May of Hattiesburg and has three grown daughters, Elizabeth Meadows, Laura Cate Permenter, and Caroline Mars. Caroline is the seventh dentist in the immediate family and the 21st in the wide range of family members.
MISTY GOFF ROBERTS, DMD
Dr. Roberts was born and raised in Gulfport, Mississippi, where she graduated from Gulfport High School. She later moved from the Mississippi Gulf Coast to Jackson to attend Millsaps College, where she earned her undergraduate degree in 2003. Following her passion for dentistry, she enrolled in the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry, graduating with her degree in 2007. Dr. Roberts then relocated to Houston, Texas, where she completed an extensive residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) at the University of Texas Health Science Center, the largest program of its kind in the country.
After completing her training, she returned to Jackson to join George May Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, bringing her expertise back to her home state. They have now been practicing together for 13 years.
Dr. Roberts is married to Dr. Jess Roberts, an otolaryngologist practicing at St. Dominic’s Hospital. They are proud parents of two young boys, Jackson and Grant.
